“We left Egypt, and now they are leaving for Egypt. Bye, and don’t come back.”
Israel resumed its war on the Gaza Strip on 18 March, after it stopped aid deliveries from entering. Since then, 855 Palestinians have been killed and 1,869 others injured, 70 per cent of whom are women, children and elderly, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
Egypt reportedly presented a new proposal to restore the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip a few days ago.
According to Associated Press, quoting officials, the proposal includes Hamas releasing five living hostages, including an American-Israeli citizen, in exchange for a week-long ceasefire, Israel allowing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and Israel releasing hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
