Egyptian scholar calls Islamic nation to unanimously support Yemen

A prominent scholar of al-Azhar University in Egypt has condemned the recent aggression by US-UK coalition against Yemen calling a unanimous jihad (struggle) against Israel as the sole way for Islamic nation.

Sheikh Salama Qawi, former advisor of Egypt’s Minister of Awqaf (Endowments) made the remarks in response to a recent attack by American and British warplanes targeting residential areas in Yemen, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

In a post on his social media X, Sheikh Salama Qawi called on the Islamic nation and scholars to help Yemeni people.

He said,” Yemeni people are paying for their support for Palestine. Should we leave them alone and remain mere witnesses?”

He underlined jihad (struggle) as the sole way for the Islamic nation in face of enemies.

The remarks by Egyptian scholar follows deadly airstrikes by US and UK coalition against Yemen killing at least 31 people, most of them women and children.

Yemeni Armed Forces vowed painful and professional response to the US attacks.
