During a recent visit to the prison, the Commission's lawyer reported concerning health conditions among several inmates. One notable case was that of 26-year-old Ahmad Radwan Hamamra from Kafr Aqab, located north of occupied Jerusalem.
Hamamra is in extremely poor health, suffering from a severe, advanced stage of scabies, with boils covering his body and even obscuring his facial features. This condition has led to anemia, yet he has not received adequate medical care. Despite being examined at the prison clinic on March 10, no treatment was provided.
Hamamra was detained on February 13, 2023, and has been held under administrative detention, with his detention renewed multiple times. He is expected to be released on March 24, 2025.
Another prisoner, 23-year-old Alaa Shalaldeh from Hebron, detained on March 20, 2024, is suffering from joint pain, sinus issues, and breathing difficulties. He was recently given antibiotics.
Meanwhile, 35-year-old Mohammad Hazeen from Qalandiya refugee camp, who has been detained since August 27, 2024, suffers from diabetes and hypertension, requiring regular insulin injections. His health remains stable.
Hazeen is currently serving administrative detention, with an expected release date of June 25, 2025.
