Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, made the comments in an interview broadcasted live on Iran’s state television, calling Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as a unique leader with global views, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He hailed the high character of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah who stressed both Shia and Sunni as the fighters battling Israeli regime in Gaza saying,” We must stand by the Sunni community since the enemy is fierce and we cannot be effective unless by maintaining our unity.”

The Iranian cleric quoted the former Hezbollah leader’s guidelines for interaction with the Sunni community and rejected allegations of efforts to convert people to Shia stressing that as an accusation leveled by enemies.

He said,” The contributions of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) for Hamas resistance and Muslim Brotherhood actually thwarted allegations of forcing Shia Islam on other denominations.”

Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari hailed the Sunni scholars who publicly voiced allegiance with the late Imam Khomeini (RA) and the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei and were isolated for their support.

The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought referred to his meetings with the late leader of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah where the two scholars discussed the notion of union of Islamic countries as well as the history of Shia in Lebanon highlighting the role of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution and the 33-day-war in introducing Shia

According to Nasrallah Shia was not a renowned group of Muslim world in pre-revolution era while today the denomination is honored due to the popular uprising in Iran as well as the worldview of Imam Khomeini and the Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
