The swap is the second of which after the first 3 captives were released on January 19, the first day a ceasefire deal between Israeli regime and the Palestinian resistance movement came into effect, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The four Israeli female captives ascended a stage set up at a main square in Gaza City when the al-Qassam officials and the Red Cross officials signed documents for the release of the four.
Dozens of al-Qassam Brigade fighters gathered earlier and handed over the four captives to the Red Cross representatives.
Meanwhile, an Israeli media has highlighted the scene where the four Israeli soldiers in army fatigues and gift bags in their hands wave at the crowd and smile with a banner of the October 7 al-Aqsa Flood Operation in the background.
The four troops are exchanged for 200 Palestinian prisoners many of whom have been held in Israeli jails for long years.
The ceasefire agreement should be implemented in three phases but the last two stages have not been finalized yet.
The first phase of the ceasefire will see release of 33 Israeli captives in exchange for nearly 1,900 Palestinians in a matter of 42 days.
