Hamas official vows defeating Israel in West Bank

A senior official of the Hamas has vowed that the Palestinian resistance movement will defeat the Israeli regime in the occupied West Bank same way it did in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Zaher Jabarin, chairman of the Hamas Political Bureau in the West Bank, on Tuesday, was reacting to the recent Israeli raids across the West Bank.

"We are facing an occupying and fascist regime that does not want to recognize the Palestinian nation and its rights," Jabarin said.

"Our nation has a steel will and sacrifice and has no option but to resist," he added.

Jabarin said the Israeli prime minister wants more conflict to remain in power.

He emphasized that Benjamin Netanyahu's only goal is to kill and sabotage to continue his rule.

Jabarin said Palestinians succeeded in defeating Israel in Gaza because they were united, and they will finally shatter the Israeli occupation through their unity.

 He added that Palestinians have no choice but to resist, and they will keep fighting even if their only weapon is stones.

His comments came following a large-scale Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the city of Jenin and its refugee camp.

Israel was forced to agree to a ceasefire, accepting Hamas' longstanding negotiation terms. The truce went into effect on Sunday.

The ceasefire deal consists of three phases, each lasting 42 days. Negotiations for the second and third phases will begin 16 days after implementing the first phase.

The first phase will see the release of some 1,900 Palestinian abductees in exchange for 33 Israeli captives held in Gaza.

More than 240 Israelis were taken captive by the resistance groups last October, following which the regime launched the war.
