Cleric urges Islamic countries to establish union as part of new world order
A prominent Iranian cleric has called on the Muslim states to establish a Union of Islamic countries as an effective part of the new world order.

The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hujjat-ul- Islam Hamid Shahriari made the comments in an address to the Russia-Islamic world held in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
The Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thoughts denounced some Muslim countries for inaction in face of more than a year of Israeli crimes in Gaza warning that the Cooperation of such countries as the main obstacle to lasting peace in the world.
He also stressed the capability of Muslim states to establish a union of Islamic countries and building a new civilization.
He stressed that the Islamic countries must endeavor to introduce Islamic ethics and true image of the holy religion to the world people.
The senior cleric highlighted the political, economic and cultural changes brought by emergence of new world powers.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari also condemned the United States for continuation of its military, economic and cultural unilateralism and denounced the administration for complicity in killing of thousands of people in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
He censured the veto power of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) that helps certain powers accumulate historical oppression and prevent an everlasting world peace.
He called for new mechanisms at the international body that maintains justice, and not interests, as its principles.
Under the slogan “Russia and the Islamic World:Cooperation in Emerging Multipolar Era”, the meeting of Russia-Islamic World delved into the prospects of mutual relation between Russia and the Islamic countries.
The meeting also highlighted the parameters of cooperation in the evolving multipolar world.
More than 200 representatives including officials, political and religious figures and also public figures from 32 countries will attend the meeting in the Malaysian capital.
Among the participants were the chairman of the Strategic Vision Group “ Russia-Islamic World” and President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanovic, Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Sti Anwsr bin Ibrahim and deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Andrew Rudenko.
