The Grand Mufti of Yemen said the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip is blamed on disunity among Muslims.

Sheikh Shamseddin Sharafeddin, in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference said the civilians in the besieged Gaza and the occupied West Bank are massacred in a US-Israeli genocide caused by the disunity of Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He warned that the Shai and Sunni people are indiscriminate targets of the enemies saying,” Both our Sunni brothers in Gaza and the Shias in Lebanon and anyone who intends to stand against their expansionist objectives are targeted.”
 
 
The senior cleric called on the Arab countries to break their silence on the ongoing war in Gaza and do not pursue normalization with the Israeli regime.
 
Sheikh Shamseddin Sharafeddin hailed the annual Islamic Unity Conference as a key measure in line with boosting solidarity of Muslims.
 
The comments by the prominent Yemeni scholar made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 38th Islamic Unity Conference underway in the Iranian capital Tehran on September 19-21.
