Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has denounced Israeli regime over a decision to convert a Jerusalem citadel into the “Tower of David Museum.”

"Such a move has no legitimacy, as it comes as part of the Israeli occupation’s strenuous effort to alter Jerusalem’s identity and features that will always remain Arab and Islamic," the statement reads.
 
Hamas stressed that the Jerusalem Citadel is an inseparable part of Jerusalem’s historic features and Islamic endowment property that will continue to bear witness to its Arab and Muslim identity.
 
The Movement further called on the international community, in general, and the UNESCO, in particular, to act to put an end to the Israeli occupation’s attempts to falsify historical facts and to protect Muslim and Christian sacred sites in the holy city.
