The visit was part of a cultural and Islamic proximity program held by the deputy of women’s affairs from World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.

The tour of the Museum of Holy Defense was held on Tuesday. The scholars and elite women attending the program were presented with a documentary introducing the different missiles and drones used during the eight years of holy defense (1980-88).

The visit also included sections on history of Islam, establishment of the Islamic state, Islamic Revolution in Iran, political encounters of late Imam Khomeini (RA) with Pahlavi dynasty, awakening of the Iranian nation and also the background of the imposed Iraq war.

The visit is part of a tour held for elite Sunni women from across Iran held on Ten Days of Karamat (munificence) which marks the birth anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS), the granddaughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) on May 21 and her brother Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam on May 31.

The construction of the Museum of Holy Defense in Qom began in 2010 following a visit by the Leader Ayatollah Khamenei to the holy city. The mega project was inaugurated in 2020 concurrent with the 40th anniversary of the Holy Defense.
