Russia and China did not address the United Nations Security Council’s monthly meeting on chemical weapons in Syria, a TASS correspondent reported.

Russian and Chinese diplomats were present at the event but did not make any statements.
Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said at the UN Security Council consultations on the issue on February 7 that "a lot of futile meetings on the Syrian chemical weapons issue took place recently and everyone could see that they were completely useless." The Russian envoy stressed that Western delegations had been stubbornly blocking all attempts to use the UN Security Council’s time more effectively.
