Iranian top cleric offers condolences over devastating earthquake in Turkey

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has issued a message to the directorate of Religious Affairs in Turkey in the wake of the devastating earthquake which killed and wounded thousands of people in the country.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari in a message to Ali Erbas president of the Directorate of Religious Affairs expressed sympathy with the bereaved Turkish nation following the deadly quake, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The cleric expressed hope that the Turkish people pass the tough days safely and speedy improvement of those injured in the incident.
 
Turkish authorities say that the death toll from the Monday earthquake rose to 3,419 bringing the total including those killed in northern Syria to more than 5,000 people.
