Prayer leader of Sunni community in Sanandaj highlighted the importance Islam lays on freedom and honor of women.

Mamusta Faeq Rostami, in his remarks at “Fatemi Hijab and Chastity” conference held in Iran’s western province of Kurdistan praised the high stance of women since early Islam in comparison with the humiliating behavior of the western civilization with them, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said,” While the European civilization humiliated and misused women as tools depriving them of their social rights, Islam introduced women as a role model for dignity and honor in society.”
 
Representative of Kurdistan province in the Assembly of Experts stressed the particular stance of women in Islam, efforts to liberate women from cliched views, injustice and sexual discrimination.
 
Member of the supreme council at World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted the equal opportunities granted to women in Islamic countries.
 
Conference on “Fatemi Hijab and Chastity” was held by women’s deputy of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought concurrent with the World Hijab Day and the first day of ceremonies commemorating the Islamic Revolution anniversary.
