Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in a post on the Arabic language of his Twitter account, reacted to the recent desecration of the Holy Quran in certain European countries, saying that the move shows that they target Islam and Quran in essence.

Ayatollah Khamenei in his post reacted to the insult to the Holy Quran in several European countries and described the move as an organized and targeted insane act.

"Insane insult to the Quran under the guise of the freedom of speech shows that the target of the Arrogant attacks is Islam and the Quran in principle," the Leader noted.

"Despite the Arrogance conspiracy, the Quran is becoming more popular as time passes and the future belongs to Islam," he continued.

"All freedom-seekers in the world should stand united with Muslims against the dirty policy of insulting the sanctities and spreading hatred," Ayatollah Khamenei further underscored.

Danish-Swedish far-right activist Rasmus Paludan burned a copy of holy Qur’an in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm on Saturday.

The measure was taken under protection of the police as a permission had been issued by Swedish authorities.

Less than a week after that, Edwin Wagensveld, the Dutch leader of far-right group, Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West (PEGIDA) tore pages of holy Qur’an in the Hague before posting a video of the provocative move on Twitter.
