Pakistanis denounce desecration of Qur’an by Swedish far-right activist

Pakistani protesters in the capital Islamabad have taken to the streets to voice anger at desecration of the holy book of Islam by Danish-Swedish far-right activist Rasmus Paludan.

Protesters called on the United Nations to react against the sacrilegious act carried out under the police protection and permitted by Swedish government, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Hundreds of religious figures, rights activists and elites were among the participants holding banners and shouting slogans against the west.
 
Jamal Balouch from All Pakistan Traders Association, in an interview with PressTV conducted on the sideline of the demonstration, said,” We are here to condemn in the strongest possible terms the attack on our holy book” and added,” To attack the holy book of Islam under the title of freedom of expression in entirely unacceptable.”
 
Sheikh Mushahid Javed, Pakistani religious scholar, in this demonstration said,” Islam is the religion of peace and we believe the need to respect all beliefs but this principle must be sported by all”
 
He condemned the west for desecrating the prophet and holy book of Islam and urged for immediate ban on sacrilege of Islamic sanctities.
 
Swedish far-right activist, Rasmus Paludan has a background of desecrating the holy book of Islam, provoking Muslims worldwide.
 
Condemnations are pouring from across the globe decrying the desecration of holy book of Islam as authorized by Swedish officials and justified under the pretext of freedom of expression.
