16 clerics in Pakistan’s city of Karachi have issued a fatwa to condemn terrorism, extremism and attack on the police force in the country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The fatwa has been issued following a video footage of Noor Wali Mahsud the 4th emir of Taliban in Pakistan announcing war against he who opposes the militant group or rejects its “jihad”.

The joint fatwa of Pakistani Shia and Sunni scholars reads,” To announce war against the police and security forces protecting Muslims is forbidden since it promotes terrorism and extremism.”

The statement has also hailed the police forces who sacrifice their life to protect their country and people as “martyrs”.

The Shia and Sunni scholars announced,” To provoke any chaos, hatch plots or encourage ethnical and sectarian violence is totally rejected in view of Islamic Sharia.”
