South Africa’s Pandor demands justice for the Palestinian people
The AU Charter “rejects colonialism, imperialist practices and occupation of sovereign states’ lands,” she recalled. “Israel is violating the human rights of the Palestinian people, and therefore does not deserve to be invited as observer to such an institution”, she added.
Pandor praised strong relations between Palestine and South Africa, as well as the strengthened ties between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the governmental African National Congress.
The South African Minister pointed out that there is a great commitment to the Palestinian cause not only in her country, but also on the entire continent. She condemned international double standards on Ukraine and Palestine issues.
“Many [around the world] lack courage to hold Israel accountable for its crimes against Palestinians”, she stressed.
“Israel must be held accountable because there will never be peace in the Middle East unless decisions related to the Palestinian people’s struggle for their freedom are implemented”.
