Iran, Türkiye exchange views on escalation of tension in northern Syria

The latest development of the military conflicts between Türkiye and Syria was discussed in the telephone call between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Tuesday night.

 Türkiye's army needs just a few days to be ready for a ground incursion into northern Syria, and such a decision may come at a cabinet meeting on Monday, Turkish officials said, as Turkish forces bombarded a Kurdish militia across the border, President Tayyip Erdogan has said Turkey would launch a land operation when convenient to secure its southern border.
Amir-Abdollahian also announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to provide any assistance to resolve the political problems between the two countries.
In the call, the Turkish Foreign Minister, while explaining the current situation and his country's stance appreciated Iran's role in ensuring security in the region.
