Iran's President in his joint presser with the Iraqi Prime Minister on Tuesday stressed that security, peace and stability in the region are important, therefore, the fight against terrorist groups and drugs is part of the agreements and will of the two countries.

 Iran's President noted: "Our relations with Iraq are not ordinary ones. Our relations are rooted in the beliefs of the two nations, and this is a very deep-rooted one that has brought the two nations and the two governments together."
 
Ayatollah Raisi stated: "You can find the root of these relations in Arbaeen and the presence of people from all over the Islamic world, especially the Iranian people who love Ahl al-Bayt in Iraq, and the excellent hospitality that the Iraqi government and people showed for all pilgrims, especially dear Iranians and the pilgrims of Imam Hussain (as).
 
He said: "I express my sincere appreciation and thanks to the Iraqi people for hosting them and to the Iraqi government."
 
The president emphasized: "The Iraqi government is the result of the agreement of the political groups in Iraq. We hope that the Prime Minister's plan will provide a different service for the people of Iraq."
 
Saying that Tehran and Baghdad are cooperating in the cultural, political, social and security fields, Ayatollah Raisi expressed hope that Iran-Iraq cooperation will improve during the new government's tenure.
 
Iran's president stressed: "From our point of view and the Iraqi government, security, peace and stability in the region are very important, and therefore, the fight against terrorist groups, the fight against organized crime, the fight against drugs and any insecurity that threatens the region are among the agreements and the common will of the two countries."
 
Emphasizing that the security of the region together with regional stability and peace should be stablished by the authorities and the forces in the region, the President said: "The presence of foreigners in the region does not create security in any way, but it adds to our problems so the same as the presence of Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq could not establish security. It is not a privilege in other parts of the region, and surely their expulsion from the region can greatly contribute to the security of the region."
