Iran FM extends condolences Belarus over pass away of counterpart

Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a message extending condolences on the death of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei appreciated his sincere efforts during his tenure in expanding the relations between the two countries.
 Amir-Abdollahian added: "I extend my condolences to the family of Makei, express my sympathy to the government and the people of Belarus and ask for eternal peace for his soul."
 
Vladimir Makei, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, who held the position of Foreign Minister of the country since 2012, died on Saturday at the age of 64.
 
He had attended a conference of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)- a military alliance of several post-soviet states- in Yerevan earlier this week and was due to meet Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Monday.
 
The cause of his death has not yet been announced.
