Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has sent a message to express condolences over death of his Belarusian counterpart.

"I was deeply saddened after I heard the news of the sudden death of Mr. Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus," the top Iranian diplomat said in his message on Saturday afternoon.

"The sincere efforts of the deceased during his tenure played a valuable role in expanding the relations between Iran and Belarus, and his fruitful trip to Tehran not long ago was also in this direction," Amir-Abdollahian added.
