Molawi Mohammad Jafar Mohebbi considered that unity and solidarity have been one of the concerns and priorities of Muslims since the early centuries and is the source of strength and progress of a society, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Referring to the verse “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided” he added “The Holy Quran is one of the important foundations of the unity that all Islamic schools of thought accept its rules and guidelines and always recite, translate and interpret the same text of the Holy Quran.”

The teacher of religious sciences schools also noted that recommendations of the Holy prophet that accepted by all Islamic schools have always been maintaining the unity among Muslims.

“A single Qiblah, common intellectual precepts, and even common geography and common interests of Islamic countries demand that they establish and preserve religious and Islamic brotherhood in the true sense”, he said and added “If Muslims do not pay attention to this important matter, they can expect harm such as colonialism, cultural invasion, religious prejudices, fratricide and lagging behind other societies.”

He concluded by saying “The goal of unity and solidarity is not to unify all schools of thought, but according to Mohammad Ashour, the former vice president of Al-Ahzar University, unity means exchanging opinions in a healthy and peaceful environment and achieving the right result.”

World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought holds the annual Islamic Unity Conference at the week concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Muslim scholars, thinkers as well as religious and political figures from across the globe discuss the latest issues in the world of Islam at the different sections of the meeting.
