UN chief, Iran's FM exchange views on Vienna talks
The Secretary General of the United Nations confers with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, one day after the United States responded to Iran's comments and demands regarding the European Union's proposal on Vienna talks.

In this telephone call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in response to Guterres' emphasis on the necessity of consensus in the NPT meeting, stated: "The chairman of the recent NPT conference, unfortunately, by ignoring the ratifications of the 1995, 2000 and 2010 conferences, especially regarding the Middle East which always wanted the Israeli regime to join the NPT and put its nuclear facilities under the IAEA's protection, has abandoned all the achievements of the previous conferences, which is not acceptable to us in any way."
Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, announced yesterday that Iran has received the response of the US government to the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the remaining issues in Vienna talks through the European coordinator.
Kanaani stated that the detailed review of the opinions of the American side has begun and the Islamic Republic of Iran will announce its opinions in this regard to the EU coordinator after completing the reviews.
On Thursday local time, United Nations Spokesperson Stephen Dujarric said to the reporters that the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held a phone call about the Vienna talks.
The UN official added: "The two sides discussed and exchanged views on Iran's nuclear program and the US return to JCPOA."
The spokesperson of the United Nations added that Guterres stressed the importance of the efforts of all parties to JCPOA for its revival.
According to Dujarric, the Treaty on the Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) was also among the issues discussed by the two sides.
The new round of negotiations centered on the lifting of the US sanctions against Iran, which started on August 4 in Vienna and ended on August 8. In this round of negotiations, several proposals were made by Enrique Mora, the coordinator of the European Union in the Vienna negotiations.
