Ayatollah Khamenei attended the Tasua mourning ceremony held at Imam Khomeini (RA) Husseiniya on Sunday.
The mourning ceremony was held without participation of people due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
Tasua and Ashura are the ninth and tenth of Muharram, first month of the Islamic lunar calendar which mark the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Abbas and Imam Hussein (AS) who fought the tyrant ruler of the time Yazid ibn Muawiyah in the Battle of Karbala back in 680 AD.
