“Islam, religion for coexistence”, Iraqi cleric

Deputy of Kurdistan region Minister of Endowments called Islam as religion of coexistence in line with training people based on fraternity.

Mamusta Erfan Rashid Sharif, deputy of the minister of awqaf in Iraqi Kurdistan region and hailed Islam as a religion to leave hostility and boost fraternity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Speaking at the first regional Islamic unity conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought in Iran’s Kurdistan province, senior Iraqi cleric expressed hope that the meeting will base fraternity, coexistence, Qur’anic teachings and lifestyle of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in Muslim world.
 
Top Iraqi cleric quoted verses from the holy book of Islam on necessity of coexistence and unity in the Islamic nation assimilating different Islamic denominations to colors of a rainbow creating a beautiful image of Islamic nation.
 
He said,” Diversity of the Islamic denominations has enriched the Islamic science and teachings though some records have sparked minor disagreements among them.
 
Deputy of the Minister of Endowments called for a review of interpretations by some Muslim scholars, tolerance towards different denominations, hiring the media and thinktanks to promote Islamic proximity and also establishment of channels and constant conferences by religious leaders for more coordination among Muslims.
 
Mamusta Sharif highlighted the measures taken in Iraqi Kurdistan region in line with proximity among Muslims and boosting fraternity and coexistence among all Muslims.
 
He hailed the guidelines by Kurdistan region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani to spread peaceful coexistence which are followed by two religious centers Ministry of Awqaf and Union of Muslim Scholars.
 
Senior Iraqi cleric made the comments in the first regional Islamic unity conference held in Sanandaj, Iran’s Kurdistan province on Wednesday.
