The Iranian and Syrian Health Ministers signed a memorandum of understanding on health cooperation.

In the ceremony of signing the MoU in Damascus, Iran's Bahram Einollahi said the relations between the two countries' medical societies needed to be strengthened. 
Einollahi said the signing of the health agreement of cooperation would be the beginning of great developments in the area between the two countries.
The Syrian Minister of Health Hussein al-Ghabbash for his part called on further medical cooperation between Iran and Syria and the implementation of the agreement. 
The agreement signed included the improvement of research and development, medical and health services, drugs, and medical equipment areas. 
Syria was damaged partly during the invasion of the US-backed ISIS terrorist group in 2011, but thanks to Iran's military consultations and help, the terrorist group was defeated in 2017.
