Netherlands mosques hold doors open day

Mosques in south of the Netherlands have held doors open day welcoming non-Muslims to the holy site in line with introducing Islam to the public in the country.

Schiedam Islamic center which neighbors a mosque in South Holland has hosted a number of non-Muslims on doors open day, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Zakaria Bodak, head of the center explained the different aspects of the religion to the visitors in line with presenting the truths on the holy religion and removing the anti- Islam prejudices spread among the people in western countries where Muslims are minority.
 
Rob Yberlan, a visitor to the mosque hailed his first visit to the holy site and said he was astonished by beauty of the place.
 
Another visitor, Meryl van der Vaart, said she had previously visited a mosque but enjoyed her first visit to that Islamic center.
 
She said her objective behind visiting the center was further familiarization with the center since the public are not informed enough on Islam.
 
Islam is the second largest religion in the Netherlands after Christianity and according to a 2018 survey 5% of the population in the European country practice the religion.
