Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution has met with the representatives of the 11th term of Parliament on Wednesday concurrent with the establishment of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

This is the first meeting between the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the 11th term of Iran’s parliament representatives since the body has taken office two years ago, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic referred to liberation of Khorramshahr, recapture of Iran’s southern city of Khorramshahr from Iraqi forces on May 24th, 1982, as a bitter equation turned sweet for the Iranian nation.
The Leader stressed that the national salvation in the country was a result of sacrifice, determination and innovative operation by Iranian forces.
Supreme Leader touched upon the key role of Parliament as an axis in management of the country and said representatives from different cities and towns must note the importance and complexity of their responsibility in management of the country.
Ayatollah Khamenei related on the particular situation across the globe and said,” Hostile rivalry among world powers, threats by world nuclear powers, increasing military threats near Europe, pandemic infection and food shortage are all factors which have turned the present condition in the world to a quite complicated one.
“Besides the situation challanging all countries, Iran is facing constant threats by world powers due to its pursuit of a new model of government which is religious democracy” said the Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the uprising of Islamic Republic of Iran against hostilities and called on the Parliament members, cabinet and judiciary to note their role in the great management of the country.
Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic enumerated simple living, commitment and popularity among features a representative of Iran’s Parliament must have.
According to the Leader prioritization of the issues and avoiding the discrimination and corruption are two other features Iranian MPs should pursue.
Ayatollah Khamenei also addressed the legislative body in the Islamic Republic of Iran and stressed importance of making laws which are comprehensive for long term perspectives and stressed,” Proposal of bills, particularly when it comes to shortcomings, is a mission for Parliament members.”
Supreme Leader called for plans regarding the issues or capabilities which have remained untouched in the country.
At the beginning of the meeting Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of the Parliament detailed the measures by the legislative body over the past two years and referred to measures to foil the sanctions as the main strategy of the Parliament.
