SG hails Iran's "positive contribution" to GECF

Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) has stressed that Iran has had a positive contribution to the GECF community.

Hamel outlined that Iran was one of the first countries to reclaim sovereignty over its petroleum resources.
The high-ranking official noted that Iran was a founder of OPEC and was considered one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world, enjoying a prominent position in the energy world, and stood at the very foundation of GECF in 2001.
The 26th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition kicked off with 1,244 exhibitors from 11 countries participating in the event held at Tehran’s permanent fairgrounds.
The fair opened on Friday with 1,200 Iranian and 44 foreign exhibitors from 11 countries and will be underway until Monday, May 16, 2022.
Italy, Spain, the UAE, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine, South Africa, and Belgium participate in the event, and high-profile representatives of the foreign companies.
