Iran urges lifting complete blockade on Yemen

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has stressed the need to lift the complete blockade on Yemen and to establish a permanent ceasefire and to pave the way for Yemeni talks.

The outbreak of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has so far killed more than 16,000 Yemenis, injured tens of thousands and displaced millions of them.
 
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian met with the ambassador of the Yemeni National Salvation Government, Ibrahim Mohammad al-Dailami, at the Iranian Foreign Ministry venue on Tuesday, referring to the Yemeni people's resistance to Saudi-led coalition attacks and concern over the Yemeni crisis.
He stressed the need to lift the complete blockade of Yemen and establish a permanent ceasefire and to pave the way for Yemeni talks to determine the fate of the war torn country.
 
The Iranian Foreign Minister added: "The Yemeni people decide their destiny with a spirit of resistance and intelligence."
 
The ambassador of the Yemeni National Salvation Government, Ibrahim Mohammad Al-Dailami, also praised the positions of the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting Yemen, and briefed Amir- Abdollahian on the temporary ceasefire process and the latest developments in the country.
