At the beginning of the conversation, the UN Secretary-General congratulated the restoration of a ceasefire in Yemen and has stated that this is a joint success and victory that has been achieved as a result of the efforts of all parties.

Expressing satisfaction with the restoration of a ceasefire in Yemen and hailing the Secretary-General for his role in this regard, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that now was the time to take fundamental steps towards peace and stability in Yemen, especially the complete lifting of humanitarian sanctions.

While announcing the continuation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for resolving the crisis in Yemen and the end of the war in this country, Amir-Abdollahian underlined: "We hope that the complete siege of the Yemeni people will end at the same time as the ceasefire is established so that this important opportunity is not lost."

Iran's Foreign Minister elsewhere stressed the importance of sending humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people.

Amir-Abdollahian also welcomed the visit of Grundberg, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Yemen to the region, and referred to the Security Council's agenda for issuing two separate statements on Yemen, noting, "We welcome the Security Council statement in support of the ceasefire, but another statement that is unilateral, without considering the Saudi attacks on Yemen and condemning the National Salvation Government, is unconstructive.

"We are close to an agreement in the negotiations and we have conveyed our proposals on the remaining issues to the United States through a senior EU negotiator," the senior Iranian diplomat noted, stressing, "The ball is now in America's court."

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres stressed the importance of the important talks in Vienna and expressed hope that the parties would reach an agreement as soon as possible.

In the end, he congratulated the occasion pf the holy month of Ramadan, saying that we are trying to put a program called "Ramadan Solidarity Initiative" on the agenda with the aim of establishing peace and humanitarian actions.

It should be noted that the two sides also exchanged views on other international issues, including Afghanistan and Ukraine.
