Iran, Armenia eying on bolstering technical-engineering cooperation

One of the areas that can provide a platform for the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Iran and Armenia is the field of technical and engineering services, which recently during the visit of the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, the ways to expand it were discussed.

On Friday, the second day of his visit to Yerevan, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Reza Fatemi-Amin met with the Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, referring to Iran's export potential said: "Iranian companies have good capabilities in technical and engineering services and our companies are ready to provide their services in Armenia in the field of dam and power plant construction."

Fatemi-Amin added: "We can also cooperate in the development of Armenian roads, because this will help develop Iran's exports to Eurasian countries, and in return our mining companies will use the mines of Armenia and build roads and dams in Armenia instead.".

Referring to the importance of the North-South Corridor for Iran, the Iranian Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade said: "This corridor can transfer goods between the Persian Gulf countries and Iran's northern neighbors, and Armenia has a significant role in this transfer, we seek to improve road conditions in Armenia and on the other hand we are increasing the transit of goods."

Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade also held meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Hambardzum Matevosyan where the Armenian official stressed the need to activate more potentials to active potentials to promote trade and economic relations between two countries, saying: "Armenia is a potential and a gateway to join the Eurasian Economic Union."
