MP says Iran, S. Arabia preparing to reopen their embassies
Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi, the member of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iranian parliament, in a tweet on Saturday wrote, "The ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia are being revived and embassies of the two countries are preparing to reopen which will have important effects on reducing regional tensions and increasing the unity of the Muslim world."

Iran and Saudi Arabia have held four rounds of talks to resolve their differences. The talks were hosted by Iraq.

They will soon hold the fifth round of negotiations in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad to resolve existing differences between the countries, the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Saeed Khatibzadeh, said on Monday, January 10.

Recently, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in an interview with Al Jazeera, said, "We had four rounds of positive and constructive talks with the relevant Saudi officials in Iraq. What we have stated as our official position is that relations between the two countries would return to normal whenever the Saudi side wishes. Iran is ready and welcomes the reopening of the embassies and consulates."
