"Gen. Soleimani was devotee of Islamic unity", Huj. Shahriari

Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought lauded the prominent Iranian counter-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani over his endeavors for the unity in the world of Islam.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Hamid Shahriari, attending the conference on "Unity of the Islamic World to Combat Islamophobia" held in Iran's Cultural Center in Karachi held concurrent with the second martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani hailing the contributions of top commander for Islamic unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said," We know General Soleimani by the nickname "Commander of Hearts" back in Iran and that is due to his struggles for the world of Islam."
 
The cleric noted that establishment of the unified ummah was an objective of General Soleimani as he did not spare any effort to help the oppressed nations in Syria and Iraq against the brutal crimes committed by Daesh terrorists in these countries."
 
The cleric referred to an operation led by General Soleimani to help the Sunnis in Iraqi Kurdistan region and the meetings he held with Sunni leaders to array them in a unified front against Daesh terrorists.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari also referred to the different Islamic denominations in Pakistan and said," We have Shia and Sunni communities in Iran and despite minor disagreements they all unite against their shared enemies."
 
He called solidarity as a Qur'anic command and a recommendation from Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and said," All ethnicities should join in confrontation against enemies of Islam."
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the comments at the conference on "Unity of the Islamic World to Combat Islamophobia" in Karachi on Monday.
 
Top cleric led a delegation of Iranian Shia and Sunni scholars and cultural figures from the major Islamic unity center in Iran visiting the seminaries in Pakistan to exchange views with Muslim scholars on Muslim world issues and Islamic unity.
