17 percent growth in world's Halal industry

Participants to the meeting of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) announced that the world Halal industry has seen a 17 percent growth.

Hisham Mohammad Kaaki, deputy of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture confirmed the number of 17 per cent growth in Halal market across the globe, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He said," Since the annual expenses of Halal sectors in 2020 is estimated around $4.6 trillion, a great growth is expected to be seen in Halal food industry.
 
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 32nd meeting of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture attended by 19 member states in the holy city of Mecca, Mohammad Kaaki noted that the Halal food industry has shown the greatest growth in the world food basket.
 
For his part, the Vice-President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers and Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Chamber of Mecca said that the meeting represents an extension of joint efforts to strengthen economic cooperation at the level of Islam world, in light of a state of uncertainty due to the impact of the pandemic and its changes over the past two years, which prevented them from holding face-to-face meetings.
