Senior Iranian cleric met with Hujjat-ul-Islam Abdulreza Pourzahabi, representative of the Supreme Leader in Kurdistan stressing that the world forum has been active in line with building and promoting proximity among Islamic denominations and also establishment of unified Islamic nation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The cleric noted that his three-day trip to the Sunni-dominated Kurdistan province meant to boost solidarity between Shia and Sunni communities.
 
The cleric also said that his visit meant to explain the concept of unified Islamic nation for the second forty years of the Islamic Revolution and illustrating the prospects towards the new Islamic civilization.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari expressed hope for expansion of academic cooperation with Iraqi Kurdistan region and stressed,” Expansion of academic efforts to train scholars at the University of Islamic Denominations is on top of our agenda.”
 
The cleric called sustained security and stability as a privilege expressing hope for settlement of the issues under Iran’s 13th government.
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought expressed hope that Iran turns to a role model for solidarity between its Islamic denominations.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Shahriari announced preparation for dialogue and convergence with all Islamic denominations in Iran and across the globe.
 
He said,” Following defeat of Daesh terrorist group in Syria and the new ambiance for interaction between Syria and the world of Islam” vowing that the entire region will move towards peace, security and cooperation.
 
Secretary General of World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought made the comments in a meeting with the representative of the Supreme Leader in Kurdistan province on Wednesday.
 
The cleric has scheduled to meet with a number of prominent Shia and Sunni scholars in the Iranian western province during a three-day visit on Wednesday to Friday December 3.
