Riyadh expels Lebanese ambassador in row over Yemen war
Saudi Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on Friday giving Lebanon’s ambassador to Riyadh to leave the Arab kingdom in 48 hours.

Saudi Arabia, in another reaction, imposed ban on all products imported from Lebanon expressing regret over deterioration of Riyadh-Beirut relations.

Saudi Arabia summoned Lebanese envoy to protest against the “offensive” remarks by Lebanese Information Minister George Kordahi saying his comments contained insult to the Arab kingdom and the parties of its Arab coalition.

In an interview with an online show affiliated with Qatar’s Al Jazeera network, Kordahi called the Yemen war as “futile” and said it was time to end the war.

He also defended Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement stressing that the Houthis were “defending themselves... against an external aggression,” adding that “homes, villages, funerals and weddings were being bombed” by the coalition.
The interview was recorded on August 5 before Kordahi was appointed as minister, but it aired on Monday.
