The first meeting of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference was held in Tehran on Tuesday evening where the participants discussed the present conflicts, security and relations in the world of Islam.

Mohammad Saeed alomari, Omani deputy minister of endowments and religious affairs, in this meeting hailed the endeavors for boosting solidarity in the world of Islam despite the wars and conflicts challenging Muslims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
He vowed cooperation of his office in Oman for promoting human values and coexistence in Muslim world saying," Oman has been a supporter of unity and equality in societies and contributed to strengthening relations among Islamic countries, affection and respect for sanctities of other religions.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Baqer Sadreddin Qabanchi, prayer leader of Najaf, praised the endeavors of Islamic Republic of Iran and also the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought for promoting solidarity among Muslims calling all Islamic countries to share their unifying experiences.
 
He said," Despite all issues in the recent years, Iraq enjoys political and religious freedom and had successful experiences since followers of different denominations are active in our country."
 
He referred to Shia and Sunni seminaries in Najaf as well as successful cooperation of all ethnicities in the domestic issues of the country in the past 18 years calling that a practical instance of unity.
 
Emad al-Din Hamrouni, university professor and political analyst from France called Islam a religion based on unity referring to the fraternal ties between Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and Imam Ali (AS) and said," Religion is incomplete without fraternity."
 
He denounced the world arrogant powers for creating gap among Muslims in an effort to bring a new version of the religion.
 
Sheikh Khalid al Mala', head of Iraq's Sunni Scholar's Assembly, referred to the verse 103 of Sura Al-e Imran, which highlights necessity of unity and avoiding discord and noted," The US and Zionist regime are enemies of Islam challenging whom requires firm determination."
 
"Iraq has been subject to the US intrigues for occupation of the Arab country and sparking sectarian rift since the 80's" warned the cleric.
 
He called creation of Daesh terrorists the latest US plot saying," Fatwa (religious decree) by Iraqi clerics summoned the youths who contributed their lives and the final result was creation of Hashd al-Sha'bi who challenged the US."
 
Participants expressed views on discord and disunity as a challenge for the world of Islam and shared successful experiences of solidarity in their countries.
 
The meeting was held on the first day of the 35th International Islamic Unity Conference held by World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Unity Conference in the Iranian capital Tehran.
 
World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has scheduled the 35th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference for October 19-24 ending with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) also known as the Islamic Unity Week.
 
Over 500 Muslim scholars, intellectuals and religious figures are attending the 35th edition of Islamic Unity Conference which is held virtually due to COVID-19 circumstances. World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has decided to hold the 35th event on the theme of "Islamic Unity, Peace and Avoidance of Division and Conflict in the World of Islam."
