17 Oct 2021 - 13:13

Senior Bahraini Shia cleric has issued a statement in reaction to the recent incidents in the Persian Gulf Arab State calling for utmost vigilance against plots hatched by enemies to divide Muslims.

Sheikh Isa Qassim, leader of the Shia community in Bahrain, in his statement released on Saturday warned of the division created between the nation and government over the recent controversial normalization with Israeli regime, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He called on the Bahraini nation to stand vigilant regarding the normalization deal signed between Manama and the Israeli regime and also the civil rights including the freedom of prisoners, failed efforts by the government to circumvent the rights and also popular pursuit of those rights.

"Bahraini nation should be cautious on the endeavors by those masterminding hostile plots to divide the nation and hide the major issues from their views even if people's lives are at stake" warned Sheikh Isa Qassim.

The leader of Islamic movement in Bahrain added," Aggressions against Islam with the aim of tarnishing its image have increased and both foreign and domestic rulers are involved."

Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim had earlier reacted to opening Israeli embassy in Manama calling the visit made by Yair Lapid and establishment of diplomatic relations with Tel Aviv as a shame to be inscribed in history of Al Kalifa.
