At least 62 killed in multiple attacks on Kandahar mosque

More than 62 worshippers have lost their lives and several more wounded as three back to back explosions target Friday prayer held in largest Shia mosque in Kandahar.


Friday terrorist attack came only a week after the massive Daesh terrorist attack on Kunduz Shia mosque which left at least 300 people killed and injured.
 
Daesh terrorist group has released a statement on its telegram channel to claim responsibility for the suicide attack on Kandahar Shia mosque.
 
The first bomber detonated his explosive belt in the hallway and the second attacker detonated his belt in the center of the mosque.
 
The public health officials have confirmed 62 as dead and 68 others injured.
 
Bibi Fatima Mosque also known as Imam Bargah Mosque is the largest Shia mosque in southern Afghan city of Kandahar.
 
Shia community in Afghanistan had expressed concern over security and social issues following Taliban takeover of the country demanding the new Taliban-run government to maintain the security of the religious minority.
 
Following the terrorist attack on Kunduz Shia mosque on October 8th, Shia countries across the globe had also called on Taliban authorities to investigate into the attack and bring perpetrators to justice.
