Al-Azhar grand mufti to visit Ayatollah Sistani soon
Iraqi sources have announced a meeting between Al Azhar grand mufti Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb and senior Iraqi jurisprudent Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani in early November.

Grand mufti of Al-Azhar will meet with the top Shia cleric in part of his historical visit to Iraq early next month; Taqrib News Agency (TNA) quoted Al Forat news as saying.
Informed sources also that Al Azhar has confirmed the visit to be made by Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb and that Iraq is making the preparations for the first visit to be made by Egyptian figure with Ayatollah Sistani.
The meeting will reportedly be held in the holy city of Najaf just after arrival of the prominent Sunni cleric before his scheduled visit to the holy shrines in Karbala and Najaf.
Sheikh Ahmed al Tayyeb will hold prayer in the holy shrine of Imam Ali (AS), first Shia Imam before his meeting with prominent Shia scholars in Najaf.
Iraqi governments have invited Sheikh Ahmed al Tayyeb to visit the Arab country since 2003.
