Ehrenfeld mosque to test broadcasting Adhan

Municipality in Cologne, Germany, has approved a two-year test for broadcasting Adhan, call for prayer, on loudspeakers as part of efforts for practicing freedom of religions.

Cologne municipality announced a decision which permits loudspeakers at Ehrenfeld mosque to broadcast Adhan, calling Muslim citizens to prayer for five minutes, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The decision has reportedly been made as part of efforts to practice tolerance for other religions and freedom of religions as mentioned in the country's constitution.
 
Authorities in Cologne will make the final decision following a two-year test whether to continue the project or not.
 
Cologne mosque is directed by Turkish union DITIB, biggest Islamic institution in Germany with its central mosque located in Cologne.
 
The mosque was inaugurated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in 2018.
