Intelligence report links UK base to US assassination of Gen. Soleimani
Menwith Hill intelligence base has probably provided information for the US plans to target Iranian top commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani who was martyred near Baghdad airport in early January 2020, The Guardian reported.

The research was presented at a special meeting of the Menwith Hill Accountability Campaign raising awareness on the activities conducted at the facility.

Barnaby Pace, an investigative journalist referred to assassination of General Soleimani in a report saying,” The involvement of the UK and Menwith Hill in an assassination that threatened to spark a war should be of great concern.

He also rebuked the US and UK forces at Menwith Hill over operating “beyond public security and accountability” and that the “Orwellian surveillance systems and extrajudicial executions exposed in recent years will likely continue.”

Menwith Hill is the largest known overseas site of the NSA, with 600 US personnel and 500 British civilians on site. The base is part of an eavesdropping network, able to collect data from hundreds of millions of emails and phone calls.
