Supreme Leader meets Olympics, Paralympics athletes

Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei met with athletes attending 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics On Saturday.

 Iranian participants in Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics met with the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei on Saturday maintaining the health protocols against COVID-19, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Supreme Leader hailed the victories achieved by Iranian athletes for injecting hope into veins of the society.
 
The Leader praised the determination of Iranian athletes and their efforts to hoist Iran's flag in the international arena.
 
Ayatollah Khamenei also lauded Iranian women athletes over proving that Islamic hijab makes no hindrance on the way to achieve victories in sports as it has been proved in political and scientific arenas.
 
"Iranian women athletes, wearing Islamic hijab, have paved the way for female athletes from other Islamic countries" said the Leader referring to the female athletes from over 10 countries attending the international arenas wearing Islamic hijab.
 
Ayatollah Khamenei also called on Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Sport and Youth and also legal institutions to pursue the rights of Muslim athletes deprived of the their rights due to rejection to compete with representatives of the Israeli regime.
 
Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with representatives of Iran in Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.
 
The 2020 Tokyo games had been scheduled for summer thought they were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021 due to the new coronavirus pandemic.
 
65 Iranian athletes competed in 17 sports in Tokyo games as the country stood 27th in the world winning 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
 
Iranian Paralympics athletes brightly shone as they bagged 12 gold, 11 silver and one bronze medal standing 13th in world ranking.
