Local sources told Syria’s official news agency SANA on Saturday that two American helicopters had landed in the al-Shaddadi base in the al-Jazeera region.

The report said the choppers, which also brought in a number of soldiers, landed at the al-Karama school, which was held by the US forces several days ago.

It also said US forces, which run the al-Bulgar prison in the region, every so often bring in militants to training camps and, after giving them the required training, deploy them to various battlefields, like those in Dayr al-Zawr.

The US military has stationed forces and equipment in northeastern Syria without any authorization from Damascus or the UN, with the Pentagon claiming that the deployment is aimed at preventing the oilfields in the area from falling into the hands of the Daesh Takfiri terrorists.

Washington has long been training militants in Syria.

Damascus has repeatedly called for an end to the US plundering of the country’s oil under the guise of combating terrorists.

Separately on Saturday, three civilians, including a woman, were gunned down in the al-Hawl camp, where American forces and militants of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) hold thousands of displaced Syrians in dire conditions.

Local sources told SANA that the victims were killed by a silencer pistol.
