"Hajj 2021 performed without COVID-19 cases" Saudi officials

Saudi officials have announced Hajj 2021 was held without any cases of COVID-19 as the pilgrims and Hajj authorities closely observed health protocols against the pandemic infection.


Hajj, security and health officials in Saudi Arabia have said they managed to hold the annual pilgrimage without any cases of the new coronavirus or any other diseases detected among the pilgrims, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Usually the pilgrims stay in Mina for three days though it is permitted to shorten the time to two days in observing the critical cases like COVID time.
 
For the second year annual Hajj pilgrimage was held with restrictions in a bid to prevent spread of the infection.
 
Before the outbreak of pandemic, Saudi Arabia had issued permission for more than 2.5 million pilgrims from across the globe to attend Hajj while it has reduced the number to 60,000 people among Saudi nationals and foreigners residing in the Arab country.
