English-language Saudi paper in its latest edition has announced the health protocols for Hajj 2021 regarding the number and age groups for pilgrims, places to set up tents, sanitary facilities and preventive measures against COVID-19, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Perfect healthcare, not having chronic diseases necessitating hospital admission in the past 6 months are among the requirements for performing Hajj 2021.

Pilgrims are required to receive COVID-19 vaccination and the overseas pilgrims have to receive full dose of vaccines approved by Saudi government.

They should also submit certificate from their home country health ministry for COVID vaccine and a negative PCR test result.

Saudi pilgrims can register for the pilgrimage with only the first dose of vaccine under the condition that 6-8 weeks have passed since their first shot.

A PCR coronavirus test is needed to be done 40 hours ahead of departure for Saudi Arabia.
