Akhoond Abdul Jabbar Mirabi, Friday prayer leader of Qarra tappeh in Bandar Torkaman said the motivation behind naming the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan was that all Muslim countries set the defense for Palestinian nation on their agenda calling that as a manifest of Islamic unity, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He said," International Quds Day counts as the symbol of Muslim unity and a day for Jihad in the path of Islam."

He expressed regret that the annual massive gathering of the people on the International Quds Day is restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Iranian Sunni cleric called on the people to make the best of social media to mark the occasion and follow the objective of Palestine in any possible capacity.

Inspired by the late founder of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini (RA), the last Friday in the holy month of Ramadan is marked as International Quds Day to voice solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation and support for full liberation of Jerusalem al-Quds from Israeli occupation.
