Catholic president of major interreligious council has issued a message to felicitate world Muslims on beginning of the holy month of Ramadan to stress the high value of hope amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Cardinal Miguel Angel Ayuso, president of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue issued a message on the beginning of Ramadan and expressed hope for a peaceful and fruitful month for all Muslims and that the Fitr Eid turns to a celebration of hope amid the pandemic infection, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Part of the message runs," Pious people believe that all hardships have the same meaning, value and objective although they might be difficult to understand or find a way out of them."
 
Cardinal Ayuso added," Hope has enemies naming unbelief in the Almighty God and love, distrusting our brothers and sisters, pessimism, vain prejudgment and generalization based on negative personal experiences."
 
The message concluded," All those who help each other during the pandemic and those who generously respond amid catastrophes remind us that the spirit of fraternity is global beyond ethnical, religious, social and economic differences.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar when the Muslims fast by abstaining food and drinks from dawn to dusk, prayer, Qur'an reading and donating for the poor.
