Iran’s cultural attaché in Pakistan holds Islamic proximity meeting

Proximity meeting of the religious leaders and Islamic thinkers was held in Iran’s embassy in Islamabad concurrent with Eid al-Mab’ath marking the appointment of Mohammad ibn Abdullah as the prophet of Islam on Friday, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

Seyyed Mohammad Ali Husseini, Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan in this meeting called on world Muslims to stand against Islamophobia and inform the nations on the high objectives the prophets, particularly the prophet of Islam.

He slammed the apparent “hostility of the dominant powers and international Zionist media which endeavors to tarnish the beautiful image of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) through Islamophobia and stand against the sacred objectives of Mab’ath.”

Participants in this meeting marked the high stance of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and exchanged views on Islamic unity, proximity of different Islamic denominations and necessity of coordination for settling the issues challenging Muslim world.

They also stressed importance of combatting dividing policy of the enemies, sectarian rifts and confrontation with violence, terrorism and Islamophobia.

The final statement of the meeting urged world Muslims to highlight the commonalities among their denominations particularly holy Qur’an and Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) as tools to confront sectarian plots.

The meeting of Muslim elites was held at Iran’s embassy in the capital Islamabad with Shia and Sunni participants attending communal prayer led by Sunni prayer leader.
